UCLA MBA Claude Coach

A Claude Code plugin that helps MBA students get better at working with Claude while they build their team course project — a guided kickoff, a coach tip when there's something worth learning, and candid feedback on request.

What it is

Students learn to work with Claude by doing real work with it. The coach rides along inside Claude Code while a team builds its course project, and teaches in the moments that matter instead of in a lecture beforehand.

Teams set how much coaching they get. A Coaching section in the project's CLAUDE.md turns tips on, down to light, or off.

What's inside

  • Kickoff: /coach:kickoff interviews the team, recommends an approach that fits their skills, and writes the project's first files and first commit.
  • Coach tips: always on. When there's a real teaching moment — a vague prompt, a big request with no plan, changes accepted untested — Claude ends its reply with one short tip.
  • Review: /coach:review gives candid feedback on how the session went, with the student's own prompts rewritten.
  • Technique playbook: twelve techniques, beginner to advanced, that load when a student asks how to get Claude to do something.

Where it stands

The plugin is public, and students install it from its repository on GitHub: todd450/ucla-mba-claude-coach.
